Cambridge Early Years is offered at British International School, Jaipur.
This curriculum has been developed by Cambridge International and Cambridge University Press, both part of the world-renowned University of Cambridge.
Typically for 3 to 6 year olds, it is the start of an exciting educational journey that helps young learners develop adequate knowledge,
understanding and skills they need to make the best possible start in life. It is built around four areas of child development and offers engaging classroom resources,
a range of assessment approaches to measure young learners’ progress. The three levels of early year curriculum are very flexible to cater to every child’s needs, capabilities and interests.
The Cambridge Early Years Curriculum has been developed by a team of early years and subject-matter experts who have brought together evidence of best practice from early years education across the world.
It reflects best practice in a way that embraces local, regional, national contexts and support cognitive, communication, social and emotional development.
Cambridge Early Years provides a solid foundation that learners can build on as they progress in their education.
The curriculum offers a holistic approach that focuses on the whole child and connects their development with the world and people around them.
The content is divided between six learning areas, but they are all connected and can be taught together. They encourage the development of knowledge,
understanding and skills through a spiral approach by revisiting and engaging with topics and skills at deeper levels and in different contexts across the stages.
Thomas Edison said “Genius is 10% inspiration and 90% perspiration.” When we think of all the skills a child needs to learn to be able to succeed academically, we often think of reading, writing, math and science. One of the most important skills children need to develop is their creativity. Creativity is what children use to write stories, solve problems, play music, design arts and crafts,
perform complex math operations and investigate science experiments. We allow their wild imagination to take wings and creativity unleashed.
Play is the highest expression of human development in childhood, for it alone is the free expression of what is in a child’s soul.
It’s more than wethink; it is a way for the children to familiarize themselves with the world while exploring and testing their own limits. At British International School, children have indoor and outdoor play areas. Children get new experiences during indoor play activities. Whether it is a ball pool or trampoline or giant Lego building blocks there is something that children will learn from it. Apart from providing a weather proofed, pollution free and hygienic play area, the indoor play area provides a cozy area for safe creative play.
The outdoor play area allows them to have fun while fine tuning their gross motor skills and of course encouraging independent play.
Communication is the key! Some of the best ways to improve the communication skills of kids are to work on their articulation,
pronunciations and extempore through fun activities such as poetry, storytelling, writing, drama, conversations and dialogues. We promote communication skills early on by helping children make connections between what they hear and what they see. Our classrooms, corridors, the play areas are all hotspots for promoting engaging talks! We have very stimulating conversation times throughout the day in our classrooms where children have access to the why, the who, the where and the what of happenings around us.
Young learners of British International School experience a spread of co-curricular and extra curricular opportunities that nurture and celebrate individual character,
help develop social skills to get along with others, whilst building self-esteem and self-reliance. Together young hearts and minds are moulded to be resilient,
respect people from every walk of life, and choose to make a difference in the lives of others.
